Dr. Rana Shahi is a Board Certified Periodontist who specializes in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. Dr. Shahi received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Oral Biology from UCLA. She went on to earn her DDS from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry in 2011. She also received additional training at Loyola University Medical Center while completing a General Practice Residency in 2012.
Dr. Shahi is a second-generation periodontist. She completed a dual specialty program in Advanced Periodontology as well as obtained another Master of Science in Dental Science with a minor in Oral Pathology from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2015.
Dr. Shahi is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Board of Periodontology, Western Society of Periodontology, California Society of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the American, California, and Los Angeles Dental Associations. She also participates in several study clubs to discuss comprehensive treatment plans with other dentists and specialists to provide her patients with the most optimal care. In addition, she maintains her credentials and licenses by completing continuing education courses, attending professional conferences, and keeping up-to-date with the latest technology and materials in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry.
The doctor enjoys hiking, biking, and being outdoors in her free time. She loves to read, explore new cultures and culinary experiences through world travel. Her passion for caring for globally underserved populations has driven her to volunteer her expertise with various nonprofit organizations worldwide to provide free dental care to those in need. In pursuit of providing dental care to all who need it, her past volunteer work has taken her to remote villages in Tanzania, Mexico, India, Guatemala, and Cambodia.
